So far this year, Oyster has significantly upped its coverage of Asia. We've added luxury hotels in Phuket, and cheap treehouse digs in Chiang Mai. We've visited all-inclusives in the Maldives, and the world's most over-the-top resort in Dubai. And now, we're fresh from a trip to Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, where we stayed at 24 awesome hotels so we could bring back hundreds and hundreds of comprehensive photos to share with Oyster fans.

One of our favorite stays was our visit to Grand Hotel Saigon. With its beautiful colonial façade, classic European decor, and gleaming marble interior, this upscale hotel has a strong Old-World atmosphere. Rooms have stately decor and modern amenities — including flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and water purification systems — and some have expansive city and river views. Antique touches like rotary phones, heavy drapes, and glass chandeliers abound. Guests that find the rooms fussy might prefer staying in the Luxury Wing, a more recent addition where the decor is a bit more contemporary. The panoramic rooftop bar and restaurant is probably the most popular feature, but there’s also a tranquil pool in the courtyard; several dining options; a spa, and fitness center. Just make sure to book a room on a higher floor, as some rooms can get traffic noise.
