Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa

Montauk, Long Island, New York, United States

The 109-room, upscale Gurney's Montauk stands out among Hamptons hotels, quite literally: It's one of the largest resorts in the area, and it also has the best beachfront location. No other Montauk resort compares in terms of features, and no Hamptons resort can match its truly terrific, and massive, stretch of sand. Gurney's full-service spa is also a highlight, and guests have free access to its facilities, which include steam rooms, Roman baths, and a big indoor pool. There are dedicated sections for men and women (only the pool is coed). The spa is open to locals and non-guests as well, so facilities can sometimes get crowded. It also means the check-in process for guests to use the facilities (which aren't free for non-guests) is a bit of a hassle.

Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina

Montauk, Long Island, New York, United States

This family-friendly resort overlooks Lake Montauk and its attached marina, bobbing with boats and crowned by a white lighthouse. Montauk Yacht Club has eight decades of intriguing history under its belt (30s-era visitors included J.P. Morgan, Vincent Astor, and Harold S. Vanderbilt) and lives on as an amenities-filled Hamptons getaway. In addition to two large outdoor pools and one indoor pool, a small beach overlooking the lake, tennis courts, yoga lessons, and surf camp, the resort has a spa and salon on-site, plus modern fitness center and saunas. Spa MYC offers seven types of massages (including couples' massages), body treatments, and facials, as well as waxing and nail services.

3

Montauk Manor

Montauk, Long Island, New York, United States

Built in 1927 as a getaway for the rich and famous, Montauk Manor is a sprawling historic property with Atlantic Ocean and Gardiner's Bay views. The 12-acre property is removed from the Montauk scene, but is close enough to not feel too isolated -- it's just a short drive or free shuttle ride away. The hotel offers pools, tennis, bocce ball, shuffle board, and a putting green, as well as a single-room day spa with a range of organic facials and massages; reservations are required.

OHEKA CASTLE Hotel & Estate

Huntington, Long Island, New York, United States

Renovating and opening a full-service spa has been on Oheka Castle's roadmap for several years, but as of this writing these plans have not yet come to fruition. However, the magnificent chateau-inspired property -- the top wedding venue in the country -- still gets a spot on this list for its extensive in-room massage services. Eight massage options include Swedish, deep tissue, maternity, and reflexology.
