But parking is expensive, the bistro only serves breakfast, and the fitness center is small. Avid skiers looking to be at the base of the ski lifts can consider its sister property, the four-pearl Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside.
Scene
A modern, family-oriented hotel with a cozy and upscale lobby
The spectacular mountain scenery at Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre attracts families year-round, but the hotel is particularly busy in ski season. The upscale lobby has a modern, business-like look that wouldn’t be out of place in a downtown setting of a large city. The stone fireplace and columns, with a large flat-screen TV hanging above, is a focal point, and there's brown leather sofas clustered around a coffee table. Wood paneling and floors and contemporary art on walls enhance the casual elegance. It’s a quiet and cozy setting with low ceilings, soft lighting, and lots of small tables for intimate conversations, and the atmosphere is thoroughly laid-back.
Location
In the heart of Whistler Village, a short walk to ski lifts and other attractions
The Pan Pacific enjoys a convenient location in the heart of Whistler Village, a bustling area surrounded by shops and restaurants. There's also a cinema complex and a pharmacy a two-minute walk away. Blackcomb Excalibur Gondola is four minutes on foot, and the ski lifts at Whistler Blackcomb and the Whistler Olympic Plaza are seven-minute walks. Whistler Conference Center is only a five-minute stroll, and walking to Whistler Golf Club is roughly seven minutes. Expect a two-hour drive to Vancouver International Airport.
Rooms
Contemporary and spacious, with full kitchen, gas fireplaces, and balconies with views
The modern, residence-style suites are decorated in a simple yet tasteful style. Walls are kept white, with soft earth tones dominating the palette throughout. Reddish-brown wood furniture includes padded headboards, desks, and armoires, and carpeting is light beige. Lovely photography of the spectacular scenery in Whistler adds splashes of color. While some suites are studio-style, most are one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with separate living rooms that have sleeper sofas and additional flat-screen TVs. All suites have gas fireplaces and full kitchens with granite counters, tile floors, and stainless steel appliances including full-size fridges, dishwashers, microwaves, and utensils. They also feature private balconies that overlook the village and/or the mountains. Multiple bedroom units also have multiple full bathrooms, and three-bedroom suites have three bathrooms. Bathrooms are particularly spacious and upscale, with granite vanities, beautiful tiling, and separate tubs and walk-in showers with glass doors. Standard amenities include turndown service, robes, slippers, coffeemakers, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Despite being in the busy Village, the rooms are relatively quiet.
