- Walking distance to downtown and lots of hiking

- No children under 13 (a pro for some!)
- No restaurant (room service and poolside eats available)
- Pricey service charge on food
- Far away from beaches

Korakia Pensione is a striking hotel. Modeled after a Mediterranean pensione, it looks like something out of Greece or Morocco -- Forbes named it one of the sexiest hotels in America. The two Korakia Pensionepools and many outdoor spaces, including fire pits, fountains, and stone paths, are all beautiful and unexpected. And the hotel plays old movies every night outside on the terrace. The rooms are named, not numbered, and each is slightly different, but all have an old-world feel.

Korakia Pensione is a short walk from downtown Palm Springs but is also near the hiking trails of Tahquitz Canyon. Shopping, golf, tennis, myriad restaurants and the Palm Springs Tramway are nearby and the Palm Springs Art Museum is within walking distance.
Once known as a destination only suited for spring breakers or retirees, Palm Springs has become a classy and clean desert destination for anyone looking for an uncluttered city with resort amenities. With a healthy gay scene and the Coachella valley (and music festival) just over 30 minutes away, the Palm Springs crowd is slowly becoming harder and harder to define. Most who come are there to spend, exercise and relax.
