Formerly an old government office, the historic building that houses Hotel Notting Hill was renovated in 2011 and transformed into the modern boutique hotel, whose stylish London theme plays out in designer furniture on black-and-white marble floors. The wall behind the front desk is made entirely of vintage leather suitcases, setting the tone for the hotel's whimsical and aesthetically pleasing style; dark wood paneling and wooden shutters carrying the same warm brown tones around every corner. The hotel's logo was conceived as a character named "Monsieur Notting Hill" who appears as a small bronze statue in the lobby, as well as in sketches throughout the hotel. The hotel caters to both tourists and business travelers; its boutique style lends itself to romantic getaways, too.

The hotel is situated on a canal-side intersection at on the outer edge of the Canal Ring neighborhood, just north of De Pijp. It's walking distance from the Museum Quarter, home to major tourist attractions like Vondelpark and the Van Gogh museum. The Canal Ring, with its shops, historic buildings, and boat-lined canals, is one of the most picturesque and popular places for visitors to stay, and De Pijp is home to several popular tourist attractions, including the Heineken experience and the bustling Albert Cuyp market. A tram stop is right outside the hotel for easy access to other parts of the city, including the city's southern business district; Schiphol Airport is 20 minutes away by car.
Rooms

Despite the color palette, rooms at the Hotel Notting Hill feel bright and cozy, with black-and-white statement wallpaper covering one wall, leaving the others cream or white. Houndstooth-patterned carpets and glass work desks on adjustable chrome legs up the style factor further. Bathrooms are done in wall-to-wall marble, with walk-in rainfall showers. Some rooms have great canal views, but some attic rooms have only skylights and basement rooms have small high street-side windows. The larger Triple Rooms don't include a third bed, but rather have a sofa bed. Each room has an electric teapot and Nespresso machine, as well as a minibar, though some of these are automated vending-style machines which cannot be used as mini-fridges for the guest's own beverages.
