Studios2Let is an upper-middle-range central London accommodation that offers short- and long-term stays. Located south of King's Cross station, Studios2Let Apartments occupies a curved block of Victorian Apartments (the entire row is impressive in itself) and is in the quiet Bloomsbury neighborhood, near Russell Square, but close enough to some major sights, such the British Museum. Some rooms can seem cramped at times, but most are suitable for long stays.
Scene
Modish, but nothing fancy
The spaces at Studios2Let are smart, simple, and to the point, with furniture and decor that's modern and stylish, yet practical. There are plenty of wood textures (especially the cabinets), as well as splashes of black, white, and champagne colors in the rooms and hallways. The higher-level rooms pop with some Ikea-esque canvas prints.
Location
Quietly tucked away in Bloomsbury, but still central
Studios2Let is a six-minute walk from King's Cross St. Pancras Station, which connects to all major rail lines as well as the London underground. The apartments are also within walking distance to Russell Square, which has many cafes, shops, and restaurants. The British Museum, Oxford Street, Covent Garden, and Soho are also within a 10- to 25-minute walk, and the apartments themselves are in the fashionable residential neighborhood of Bloomsbury. Rife with literary associations, Bloomsbury is also home to the University of London.
Rooms
Simple rooms accommodate long stays
The rooms of Studios2Let Apartments have been designed for long-term guests, and therefore they come with kitchenettes that include microwaves, refrigerators, electric stoves, toasters, cutlery, and pots and pans. Many of the rooms can feel a bit cramped -- sometimes drawers and wardrobes cannot be opened fully because of limited space. The bathrooms are also small, although the Elsyl toiletries are a nice bonus.
Features
A pleasant back garden and a lounge
As an apartment property, Studios2Let does not have all the amenities of a hotel. But the back garden and patio are nice touches, and give the property a pleasant "homey" feel. Guests can also use the lounge in the basement, which has a big-screen TV with movies, and plenty of seating. The hotel also includes free Wi-Fi.
