Top 10 Infinity Pools on the Caribbean Sea
The beach, the pools, the view – these are major reasons why we travel to the Caribbean. And when we can get all in one, that’s ideal. So we scoured the islands to find the best infinity pools in the Caribbean. These spots – with gorgeous views overlooking the ocean – are perfect for sitting back, relaxing, and soaking up that sun.
Four Seasons Resort Nevis
This Four Seasons sits on a large, attractive beach on the small island of Nevis. The gorgeous rooms here may be the highlight, with up-to-date technology, massive bathrooms, and pretty yellow-and-blue decor. But the reflection pool, an adults-only pool overlooking the ocean, is a major perk as well. Poolside guests can enjoy free snacks, as well as poolside lunch and drink service, throughout the day. The hotel also features two other slightly larger pools as well.
Strawberry Hill, Jamaica
This former coffee plantation nestled among the steep and winding hills of Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain is a little oasis above the very un-resort-like city of Kingston. The resort offers plenty of intimacy and privacy, with just 12 cottages on more than 26 acres. It also has the features of a larger property: an expansive spa, a breezy restaurant and bar, lush gardens, and an infinity pool. It may be small, but this pool offers gorgeous views, and lacks the rowdy children of many other Jamaican resorts.
Calabash Cove Resort and Spa, St. Lucia
Opened in 2009, this upscale 26-room boutique resort rests on a gently sloping hill above Bonaire Bay, providing stunning Caribbean Sea views from virtually everywhere -- whether at the open-air restaurant and spa, the cozy library, or the stunning infinity pool. Several very distinct room types create varying experiences for guests, though all feature elegant furnishings and private balconies.
Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa, Cancun
Overlooking a stunning beach by the southern tip of the Hotel Zone, this adults-only property oozes tranquility. Its serene red and white décor – with billowy curtains everywhere – and a somewhat secluded spot far from the booming nightlife set this upscale boutique apart from the mega-resorts located just north of it. The large, peaceful infinity pool – overlooking the ocean – is surrounded with comfy loungers, and features a whirlpool and swim-up bar.
Hotel Le Toiny, St. Barts
Undoubtedly one of the most prestigious hotels in St. Barts, this exclusive 15-villa luxury resort with a Parisian flair sits amid 28 lush acres of natural hills and beachfront. The private villas are spacious and airy, each with its own infinity-edge pool. The resort is also home to a slightly larger pool open to all guests, that sits next to the acclaimed on-site restaurants and boasts stunning views of the ocean and surrounding hillside.
Casa Colonial Beach and Spa, Dominican Republic
Casa Colonial is one of the most stylish, most luxurious hotels in the Dominican Republic. With a gorgeous spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a pretty beach, and a lovely gourmet restaurant, this boutique property has all of the amenities of a larger resort. Though the infinity pool is small, the ocean views are beautiful, and it’s never crowded.
GoldenEye Hotel & Resort, Jamaica
The 21-room GoldenEye is hands down Jamaica's hippest and most luxurious resort. It's also one of the island's most historic, as the former home of Ian Fleming, and the hideaway at which the author scribed all 14 of his James Bond novels. Today, the property, which reopened in 2010 after an extensive $50 million renovation, includes stunning cottages and villas overlooking a private beach and lagoon, as well two pools. Both pools overlook the ocean, but the main infinity pool is larger, and offers more spots for lounging.
Parrot Cay and COMO Shambhala Retreat, Turks and Caicos
Accessed via a 30-minute boat ride from Providenciales, this 1,000-acre all-inclusive resort on a private island is the definition of tranquility. With the world-renowned COMO Shambhala Spa, waterfront Balinese-style villas, doting service, and more than three miles of pristine beach, it's easily one of the most luxurious and romantic options in the Caribbean. While many villas come with private infinity pools, the main infinity pool is drop-dead gorgeous, and looks out over the ocean.
The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas
In keeping with the brand, this resort is uber-luxe with features such as a gorgeous spa, numerous fine-dining restaurants, a prime location on a beautiful beach, and a pretty infinity pool overlooking the ocean; a whirlpool and a children’s pool are nearby. Attendants offer loungers poolside and beachside drink and food service, and guests can rent private beach cabanas.
Zoetry Agua Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
This secluded boutique getaway is an hour from the airport on a bumpy dirt road, but it feels a million miles from Punta Cana’s mega-resorts. Giant rooms with gorgeous terraces, a top-notch spa, and several nice restaurants are lovely. The highlight, however, is the large infinity pool overlooking the ocean.
