Bottom Line
This charming, budget-friendly boutique hotel is situated in the 7th arrondissement, just off of the cobblestoned, cafe-lined Rue Cler and a 10-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The 25 rooms are on the small side, but tastefully decorated in a traditional Parisian country-style decor. Metro line 8 is nearby, making it easy to access other attractions. Wi-Fi is free and the continental breakfast can be served in guest bedrooms or the breakfast area, but there are no other services to speak of (not unexpected in this price range).

A quaint, no-frills boutique hotel near charming cafes and the Eiffel Tower
The Hotel du Champs de Mars has a pleasant lobby with purple pattered chairs, big windows facing the cobblestoned street, and a dog bed for the owners' spaniel. A staircase leads down to the breakfast area, which has a stone accent wall and wicker chairs; guests can also choose to take breakfast in their rooms. The decor throughout is quaint and appealing, if not luxurious, and subtly reflects the owners' tastes; framed golf prints are Stephane's influence, while the room names such as Peony and Hyacinth reflect Francoise's love of flowers.
Location
In the heart of the 7th arrondissement, near the Rue Cler market and the Eiffel Tower
The hotel is in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, and a 10-minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower and the Invalides (the site of several museums including The Museum of Contemporary History, military museums and Napoleon's tomb). It's also just off the charming, cobblestoned Rue Cler, which is famous for its market and its numerous cafes. The Rodin Museum and La Musée du Quai Branly are also within walking distance. To reach other tourist sights, visitors can walk three minutes to metroLine 8 at Station Ecole Militaire; from there, it's a 10-minute ride to the Champs Elysées, a 16-minute ride to the Louvre or a 20-minute ride to the Marais district.
Rooms
Charming, country-style rooms in cheerful blues and yellows
The bedrooms are small and simple, but clean and tastefully decorated in traditional Parisian country style. In terms of colors, most rooms are adorned in either warm yellows or soft blues; in terms of patterns, expect toile and regency stripes. Framed illustrations of famous Paris sights adorn the walls. Amenities include flat-screen satellite televisions and free Wi-Fi; bathrooms have tiny stall showers or shower/tub combos, as well as toiletries. There is no hot drinks tray, however, and some rooms show minor wear and tear. A couple of rooms have patios.
Features
Wi-Fi is free, but breakfast is not
As a small budget-friendly boutique, the Hotel du Champ de Mars doesn't offer much in the way of features or services. But the staff can recommend and reserve tables at local restaurants, tickets for shows, or cruises down the Seine. The continental breakfast (for a fee) includes croissants and fresh orange juice, and can be served in bedrooms or the breakfast area.
