Hotel du Cadran is a mid-range boutique with an excellent location in the 7th arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower, just off the bustling pedestrian shopping street Rue Cler and an easy walk to the metro. The hotel's 41 rooms are small but stylish and equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and modern bathrooms. Contemporary decor utilizes clean lines with pops of color. Property features here are limited, but one memorable asset is the on-site chocolate and macaroon shop. The vaulted-cellar breakfast room is also striking, and the breakfast buffet is solid, though it may cost an extra fee. The Hotel du Champ de Mars right across the street is another mid-range boutique option offering more traditional decor with a dash of country charm.
Small but stylish mid-range boutique hotel near Eiffel Tower
Situated in a six-story corner building, Hotel du Cadran has a flat white facade that blends in with most of the buildings on the block. Inside, the lobby is small and dimly lit, but it sports a modern-boutique style with a funky faceted reception desk and several squat chairs with black-and-white floral damask upholstery. This space leads directly into a petite chocolate and macaroon shop with a bright pink accent wall behind the counter. The hotel's exposed-brick, vaulted cellar breakfast room, though windowless, is surprisingly stylish with wood floors and modern molded cut-out chairs. Unlike some Parisian hotels, this one has an elevator -- but it's small and a little slow. Rooms, like many in Paris, are tiny. All rooms are for two, though connecting rooms are available. (The Hotel Valadon, Cadran's sister hotel right down the block, has more spacious suites.) With its stylish decor, limited extra property features, and proximity to the Eiffel Tower, the hotel tends to attract sightseeing couples.
In the 7th arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower and Invalides
Hotel du Cadran is located on a small street in Paris' 7th arrondissement, and is equidistant from both the imposing Hôtel des Invalides and the Eiffel Tower, each about a 15-minute walk. Rue Cler -- a charming pedestrian shopping street where one can find fruits and vegetable shops, bakeries, butcheries, restaurants, and bars -- is just down the street, a two-minute walk. Many major tourist attractions are in walking distance from the hotel, but for sights farther out, the École Militaire metro stop (line 8) is just a four-minute walk. Airport transfers can be arranged through the hotel.

Comfy, contemporary, and compact rooms with modern bathrooms, minibars, and flat-screen TVs
Guest rooms are small but stylish and contemporary with gray carpeting, neutral walls, and bright pops of color in the form of velvety pillows and runners. In some rooms, mosaic tile detailing adds a bit of charm, and the wall behind the bed might be painted in an accent color or finished with a black-and-white photo mural of a quintessential Parisian sight. Bathrooms are compact but modern with gray tiling and square white sinks. They have either small walk-in showers or combination showers and tubs and come stocked with hairdryers and free individual toiletries. All rooms are air-conditioned and include flat-screen TVs, safes, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Most rooms do not have coffee/tea service.
Accommodations are on the small side -- even for Paris. The entry-level Standard Room has a queen bed but only measures 140 square feet while Deluxe and Superior Rooms are just 160 square feet. Connecting rooms (290 square feet) are available for families or small groups. (The Cadran's sister hotel, the Valadon Colors Hotel, is just down the street and offers upgraded rooms with a bit more pizzaz and space -- amenities, like the breakfast room, are shared with the Cadran.) Rooms face either the interior courtyard or the street -- in the later, guests occasionally complain of street noise.
On-site chocolate and macaroon shop, solid breakfast buffet, but few other amenities
Like most mid-range Parisian hotels, this one has little in the way of extra property features, but the few it has adds to its charm. The lobby is small enough that it's not really a place to hangout, but the breakfast room -- a vaulted cellar with exposed brick walls -- is surprisingly stylish, and guests find the buffet decent with a small but quality selection of standards like cereal, pastries, cold cuts, and cheese. It's price, though, isn't necessarily included in the room rate. The hotel's most interesting feature is a cute on-site chocolate, macaroon, and coffee shop connected to the lobby. Like most three-pearl properties in the area, there is no bar, full-service restaurant, or fitness facilities, though.
The hotel also has a small business center with computers and a printer for guest use, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. Reception is open 24 hours and staff can arrange for some higher-end services such as airport transfers or car service, childcare, or dry cleaning and laundry service.
