Hipotels Mediterraneo

Sa Coma, Majorca (Mallorca)

This adult-only hotel from the Hipotels chain is situated on the Sa Coma beachfront. The 397 guest rooms are simple and contemporary, including furnished balconies, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi -- though the use of safes incurs a charge. A large and lovely outdoor pool is surrounded by a vast sundeck, plus there's an indoor pool. Wellness facilities include a spa, saunas, steam rooms, and a fitness center. The hotel has a buffet-style restaurant that gets good reviews from past guests, with half-board and all-inclusive plans available. Other on-site dining options include a Japanese restaurant, Italian, and Spanish tapas. There's also a poolside snack bar, as well as a bar with a stage where the animation team performs evening shows. Entertainment includes games and competitions during the day, as well as evening performances and live music.

2

Hotel Roc Gran Camp de Mar

Camp De Mar, Majorca (Mallorca)

The 412-room upscale Olimarotel Gran Camp de Mar is a large destination resort with a variety of all-inclusive options and activities for guests of all ages. This property is a quieter resort in an exclusive area, with beautiful bay views and a lovely sandy beach lined with sunbeds and palapas (available to rent). Guests are required to wear ID wristbands during their stay. Rooms are small but spotless and have balconies with partial or full sea views.

3

SENTIDO PUNTA DEL MAR

Santa Ponsa, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

The stunning panoramic views are the biggest draw at this 243-room adult-only resort. The restaurant, the lobby, the pools, and most of the rooms all feature striking sea vistas that are hard to beat in Santa Ponsa. There are a number of other great selling points, including stylish rooms, a small spa, good cuisine, and a rooftop bar for sunset drinks. The main restaurant offers a varied buffet, and guests can visit the elegant a la carte restaurant once per stay -- a nice perk. The snack bar is a convenient option for a quick bite, but the most popular drinking spot at Punta del Mar is Blue Bar, which is a favorite for watching the sunset. The only real downside is that the seafront area here is rocky, and the nearest stretch of sand is a 15-minute walk away.

4

Robinson Club Cala Serena

Cala Serena, Majorca (Mallorca)

Set on lovely beachfront grounds, this chic and upscale resort offers an array of features that suit travelers seeking a dose of relaxation and families traveling with kids. 5

Zafiro Can Picafort

Ca'n Picafort, Majorca (Mallorca)

Viva Can Picafort is an all-inclusive resort with one-bedroom apartment accommodations, making it an extremely popular destination for families vacationing with small kids. This particular Viva outpost is located in a quiet area outside of town, but the atmosphere is nothing but, with activities everywhere, all the time, and crowds during the busy season. The enormous pool is surrounded by a large sundeck with scores of sunbeds, and the Caprice Buffet restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and themed dinner buffets in a dining room that can often be crowded.

6

Garden Holiday Village

Playa de Muro, Majorca (Mallorca)

This adult-only complex is located on the edge of the quiet Playa de Muro resort. The 132 contemporary rooms and suites are attractive and bright, and all open to spacious balconies or terraces -- some even to private gardens. Snagging a lounger around the large pool is never an issue, and Bali beds add a touch of sophistication. The main problem is mosquitos, so don't forget repellent and long sleeves. The all-inclusive plan covers the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including themed nights, plus one meal per stay at the a la carte restaurant. National-brand beer, wine, spirits, and a selection of cocktails are also covered, and ice-cream is available throughout the day. Guests of the hotel also get half-price at the Samsara Beach Club, accessible using the free shuttle service. The plan does not cover most cocktails, international-brand alcohol, minibars, Bali beds, or any drinks after a certain time.

7

HYB Eurocalas

Calas de Majorca (Mallorca), Majorca (Mallorca)

At almost 400 rooms and apartments, Hotel HYB Eurocalas is actually one of the largest all-inclusive hotels in the area, trumped only by the nearby 454-room Club Cala Romani. Eurocalas deviates little from the classic family-friendly mega-resort mold, though a renovation in 2016 brought its units majorly up to date (most rooms look out towards superb sea and mountain views). The all-inclusive plan covers buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including themed nights. Snacks such as ice cream and cakes are also available during set times. A range of branded soft drinks and locally produced alcoholic drinks are also covered and served until midnight. Self-service wine is available during meal times. In-room Wi-Fi is not covered, though it is free of charge around the reception area. Also not covered are internationally branded alcohol, bottled wine, and bottled water. A small charge applies to some of the kids' club activities.

8

Hipotels Cala Millor Park

Cala Millor, Majorca (Mallorca)

Housed in a large, modern building that resembles a cruise ship, this resort-style hotel from the Spanish Hipotels chain features a white, angular facade covered with blue glass balconies. The on-site restaurant serves buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with live cooking stations for made-to-order items as well as themed nights several times a week. Food continually gets good reviews from guests for its quality and variety. All-inclusive plans are a popular choice with guests, and half-board options are also available. Holiday Village Majorca was fully renovated in 2013, and it shows, particularly in its 306 spacious and tastefully decorated rooms and its beautiful landscaped grounds. Though it's a 20-minute walk from the beach and downtown Cala Millor, its numerous on-site facilities, including a spa and multiple restaurants, bars, and pools make it possible to never leave the property. It's also suited for families with young children, as it offers daycare services, a kids' club, and numerous children's activities. The all-inclusive property offers numerous dining options, including the main buffet restaurant, a pool bar buffet, and Italian, Mediterranean, and Tex-Mex restaurants. All of the restaurants have alfresco dining options.

10

Hotel Seramar Comodoro Playa

Palmanova, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

At just 88 rooms, the Hotel Comodoro is a relatively small property overlooking Palmanova Bay's sandy Son Matias beach. A five- to 10-minute walk from Magaluf's wild nightlife, it's removed enough from the scene to stay thankfully quiet. Renovations in 2016 have updated most of the interiors as well as adding a beach club-style sun terrace, though there's a fee to use it (as well as in-room Wi-Fi). The revamp also extended to the rooms, which all feature superb sea-view balconies, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioning. The all-inclusive plan covers hot buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with live cooking stations and twice-weekly themed buffets. A range of international-brand soft drinks and locally produced alcoholic drinks are also covered and served throughout the day. Snacks such as sandwiches are also available in the bar during set times. In-room Wi-Fi is not included, neither are most cocktails and premium-brand alcohol; no drinks at the chill-out terrace are covered.

11

Sentido Tucan

Cala d'Or, Majorca (Mallorca)

Sentido Tucan is an upscale adult-only hotel set in a prime position just next to Cala D'Or's main beach and a short stroll from its vibrant dining and shopping center. Its 77 rooms were renovated in 2015 and are clean and modern, with spacious bathrooms and balconies -- a few even feature sea views. As well as breakfast-only and half-board rates, there are two levels of all-inclusive plans -- regular and premium. Both cover the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and include self-serve soft and alcoholic drinks (local brands). The premium all-inclusive option also covers international branded alcohol and once-per-week dining at the a la carte tapas restaurant (reservations required).

12

Alcudia Garden Aparthotel

Port d'Alcudia, Alcudia, Majorca (Mallorca)

The pleasant and mid-range Alcudia Garden is centered around attractive grounds near Port d'Alcudia's huge sandy beach. All 276 rooms are up to date, and have either balconies or small private gardens with loungers. Though there are three pools (two lagoon-style and one indoor), snagging a poolside lounger can be a challenge during peak season. The optional all-inclusive plan covers the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with live cooking and themed dinners twice-weekly. There's a discount (50 percent during our visit) on meals at the a la carte Italian restaurant, and reservations are recommended. Snacks are served at selected times between meals and include ice cream, pastries, and sandwiches. Local-brand beer, wine, and spirits, and international soft drinks are also covered.

13

Flamboyan Caribe

Magaluf, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

The Flamboyan Caribe is a three-pearl, adult-oriented hotel overlooking the east end of Magaluf's long stretch of sandy beach. The town's notoriously wild nightlife is just a short stroll away, though the hotel manages to stay comparatively quiet. Its 205 rooms are spread between two buildings, all of which open to balconies, though not all have superb sea views. Decor is pleasant, though Wi-Fi isn't free, even with optional all-inclusive rates. Those do cover the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as some snacks including hot dogs, ice cream, and burgers served in the afternoon. A good selection of soft and alcoholic drinks are also covered, including some branded beverages; premium brands are available at a discount. Self-service beer and wine (red, white, and rose) are available during meal times. Safes, kettles, and mini-fridges are not included.

14

HM Gran Fiesta

Playa de Palma, Majorca (Mallorca)

HM Gran Fiesta has a prime position overlooking Playa de Palma and contemporary and stylish interiors. All 241 rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and balconies or terraces with sea views, albeit most of these are side-on -- the best rooms have full-frontal vistas and loungers. The decent-sized outdoor pool also has sea views, though don't expect any poolside activities. The optional all-inclusive plan covers the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including themed nights and show cooking; mid-morning and afternoon snacks are also provided, as is ice cream throughout the day. National-brand beer, wine, spirits, cava, sangria, and a selection of cocktails are also covered (including alcohol-free), plus all tea, coffee, and soft drinks. The plan does not cover most cocktails and international-brand alcohol, or in-room safes and Wi-Fi. Bed-and-breakfast and half-board plans are also available.

15

Globales America

Calas de Majorca (Mallorca), Majorca (Mallorca)

The Hotel Globales America is a '70s-era, all-inclusive property with a prime clifftop setting in a relatively remote spot on Majorca's east coast. It's an upper-middle-range resort that certainly doesn't break the mold, and offers buffet dining, good kids' facilities, and a couple of pools. Sea views from every room are the main draw, and most rooms were modernized in 2015. Globales' standard all-inclusive plan covers buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus snacks throughout the day including pizza and ice cream. There's also a paella demonstration once a week. A range of soft drinks, cocktails, and locally produced alcoholic drinks are covered and served throughout the day. In-room Wi-Fi and safes are not covered. A "Gold" upgraded plan adds premium drinks, reserved tables and bar space, pool towels, wine with meals, and exclusive access to a sun terrace.

16

Alua Hawaii Mallorca & Suites

Palmanova, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

A 2012 renovation gave Intertur Hotel Hawaii Mallorca & Suites's interiors a fresh veneer, and its two pools, plenty of child-friendly facilities, and an adult-only terrace keeps most guests happy. The optional all-inclusive plan covers the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with some live cooking and themed nights twice a week. Snacks are served at selected times between meals and ice-cream is offered throughout the day. Spanish draft beer, wine, and spirits, and international soft drinks are also covered. Some premium-brand drinks, cocktails, and Cava are also included. All entertainment and that kids' club is also covered. Unfortunately, in-room Wi-Fi is not included after the first hour.

17

Globales Santa Lucia

Palmanova, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

Set on the rocky promontory that separates two of Palmanova's sandy beaches, the Santa Lucia Hotel certainly features an impressive setting. Each of its 332 guest rooms takes advantage of the views with gorgeous sea vistas from balconies. The optional all-inclusive plan covers the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and includes live cooking and themed nights. Breakfast is served in the dining room, offering the usual buffet of hot and cold items, plus a cooking station for made-to-order eggs and pancakes. Lunch and dinner are also buffet-style. Despite some theme nights, guests complain the food can get repetitive. Snacks, such as ice cream and cookies, are available in the restaurant between meal times. There's also a poolside bar serving snacks and light meals, such as hot dogs and burgers, while a cocktail bar has a stage for evening entertainment (typically quizzes, cash bingo, and cabaret). National brand beer, wine, pre-mixed cocktails, and spirits are free, and there's a discount on premium brands.

18

FERGUS Bermudas

Palmanova, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

The upper-middle-range Hotel Fergus Bermudas is an updated, resort-style hotel that attracts a wide spectrum of guests from families to vacationing groups with its pool and beach access. While the hotel doesn't overlook the sea, it's just around the corner from one of Palmanova's sandy beaches and a short stroll from bars and restaurants. The 116 guest rooms are clean and contemporary, with modern bathrooms and balconies or terraces, though none have sea views, and both Wi-Fi and use of the safe incur fees. The optional all-inclusive plan covers the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also includes show cooking and themed nights. Snacks in the form of sandwiches, cake, and fruit are served at set times from the restaurant, while ice cream is available most of the day. National brand beer, wine, and spirits, and international soft drinks are also covered, plus afternoon coffee and tea. Premium-brand alcohol, including most cocktails, are charged extra.

19

FERGUS Style Cala Blanca Suites

Santa Ponsa, Calvia, Majorca (Mallorca)

Fergus Style Cala Blanca Suites Hotel is a busy and upscale family-friendly property a short walk from two beaches. Its 175 suites have stylish contemporary decor, living areas with sofa beds, and furnished terraces, most with sea views. Convenient amenities include a pool, an adult-only rooftop deck with whirlpools and views, a kids’ club, and a beach bar. But it's jam-packed during peak season to the point that it can be uncomfortable and the all-inclusive package doesn't include many of the drinks and snacks available.

20

Club Calimera Es Talaial

Cala d'Or, Majorca (Mallorca)

This family-friendly complex is set in the peaceful tourist village of Cala Egos. The all-inclusive plan covers buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the main restaurant, plus snacks such as pizza, burgers, and hotdogs at the poolside bar. One dinner each week at the barbecue restaurant is also included for most guests. All soft drinks and most local alcoholic drinks are covered (bars display menu of all-inclusive such as local beer, wine, and pre-made cocktails). A neat feature here is that one day of continuous childcare (for children 3 to 9 years old) is included per week and all kids' club activities as well. Not included in the plan are branded drinks and freshly made cocktails, access to the spa and gym, and laundry facilities. While Wi-Fi is generally charged, there are a couple of hotspots where guests have free access if they purchase a drink.
