Desire Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive, couples-only, clothing-optional resort that attracts a range of couples, including everyone from older married couples to young nudists to swingers. Rooms are large with flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, and balconies. This is a resort only for those interested in a somewhat raucous vacation -- but as a 4-pearl resort, it's a step above some similarly billed hotels. This property caters toward partying types with daytime activities (some more tame than others) and nightly parties, but there is also a nice pool with ocean views and a large Jacuzzi (that some claim can get pretty X-rated towards the wee hours of the morning). Guests can also check out the spa for an additional fee and, unlike at many other all-inclusive resorts, reservations are not required at the four tasty restaurants.

In Puerto Morelos, a more subdued area south of Cancun with tranquil beaches and great snorkeling
The Desire Resort is located in Puerto Morelos, a calm, secluded area with tranquil beaches. The resort is all-inclusive and is stocked with amenities, but is somewhat isolated. The nearest small town is a 20-minute cab ride ride, and the much larger downtown Cancun to the north is a 30-minute drive away.
Puerto Morelos is a former fishing village located halfway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The area serves as a perfect compromise for anyone looking for Cancun's stunning beaches but don't want them to be overrun by hordes of tourists. The impressive reefs just offshore attract a fair share of divers, and many come to take a dip in the inland cenotes (massive sinkholes filled with crystal clear groundwater). The laid-back vibe of the area makes it great for spending a day lounging or exploring, and unwinding with dinner at a beachfront restaurant, all without the fear of having to deal with packs of rowdy spring breakers.
