Hotel Ohla Barcelona

Location

In the Gothic Quarter, walking distance to major attractions and public transportation

The Ohla Hotel is centrally located right on the northeastern border of the Gothic Quarter, a 2-minute walk from Urquinaona subway station, and less than 10 minutes from Placa de Catalunya, the heart of Barcelona. Major attractions, such as the Palau de la Musica Catalana and the gorgeous streets of the historic Gothic Quarter, are right outside the hotel’s door, and most other tourist sites are either an easy walk or a short subway ride away.

Sitting on top of the original Roman settlement, the Gothic Quarter is the center of the old city and one of the largest remaining "Gothic Quarters" in the world. It boasts tons of historic buildings, with everything from the remains of Augustus's ancient temple to Els Quatre Gats, the restored pub that served as a main meeting spot for Modernists at the turn of the century. But perhaps the most visually stunning buildings are the many cathedrals. This is one of the most popular neighborhoods among tourists, and there are tons of restaurants (many al fresco), high-end shops, and specialty shops with local favorite souvenirs such as fans and espadrilles.

  • 20-minute drive to El Prat International Airport
  • 5-minute walk to Plaça Catalunya, the heart of the city
  • 5-minute walk to La Rambla
  • 10-minute walk to Picasso Museum
  • 15-minute walk to La Pedrera and Casa Batllo, wonderful examples of unique Modernist architecture
  • 15-minute walk to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA)
  • 17-minute walk to Ciutadella park
  • 3-minute subway ride, plus a 10-minute walk to Barceloneta Beach and the waterfront
  • 12-minute subway ride to Sagrada Familia Cathedral
  • 10-minute subway ride, plus a 20 minute steep walk up to Güell park, designed by acclaimed Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi
