In the picturesque Canal Ring area of Amsterdam
Hotel Pulitzer is located in the Canal Ring neighborhood, so called because it is made up of a ring of canals around the Old City Center. It's one of Amsterdam's most picturesque areas, and is an extremely popular place for visitors to stay. It's full of shops, restaurants, and centuries'-old buildings. The hotel is within walking distance to Anne Frank's house, the Westermarkt train station, and Madame Tussauds.
Marked by cobblestone streets, canals, and an abundance of coffee shops (which are most often known for something other than coffee), Amsterdam is both a quiet and lively city without the pretention of some other European metropolises.
In the summer, visitors can enjoy live music at the Openluchttheater, an open-air venue at the Vondelpark, or the Roots Music Festival. The Gay Pride parade also takes place in the summer, and the city's many museums -- including the Van Gogh Museum or the Anne Frank House, where Frank and her family hid from the Nazis during World War 2 -- are popular attractions year-round. Visitors in April can experience Queen's Day, which celebrates the queen's birthday and includes a massive flea market, parties, and outdoor concerts.
Noordermarkt is known for its antiques and Brouwerij de Prael is a recommended stop for beer enthusiasts. Fun dining spots include the famous sandwich spot Van Dobben, as well as Pancake Bakery, which offers more than 70 types of pancakes and a slew of other breakfast goods.
The Hotel Pulitzer is a charming luxury property in the Canal Loop of Amsterdam. The hotel is made up of a block of 25 restored 17th and 18th century canal houses and is full of historic details. All rooms are unique with warm design touches such as exposed brick walls and wood floors. Most rooms are flooded with natural light, and some have canal views; those that don't overlook the hotel's garden. One drawback is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi in rooms, but it's free in the lobby and the small business center. The hotel has a grill restaurant, bar, wine salon, espresso bar, and 24-hour room service. In the warmer months, lunch and dinner can be eaten in the hotel's garden. There is also an art gallery and fitness center on-site. Besides having a location in one of the most picturesque areas of Amsterdam, the hotel is also within easy walking distance of popular sights such as Dam Square, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Red Light District. But guests can also choose to see the city from the hotel's boat, which is the very same vessel Winston Churchill chose to tour Amsterdam in 1946.
