Oyster Review Summary

Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators

Pros

  • Excellent location in the safe San Isidro neighborhood
  • Sophisticated rooms with iPod docks and flat-screen TVs
  • Opulent bathrooms, some with separate soaking tubs
  • Guest privileges at the 18-hole Lima Country Club
  • Small outdoor pool and modern fitness center
  • Excellent restaurant, Perroquet Restaurant, and lovely lobby bar
  • Over 300 pieces of original art on loan from Pedro de Osma Museum

Cons

  • Fee for Wi-Fi
  • Access to attractions requires a car

Bottom Line

The historic Country Club Lima Hotel blends classic elegance with modern comfort. This 83-room property feels upscale with classic decor, wood accents, and up-to-date amenities such as iPod docks and flat-screen TVs. Palatial bathrooms are gorgeous and many feature separate soaking tubs. Features here include a small but intimate outdoor pool, small fitness room, and guest privileges at the 18-hole Lima Country Club. There is also an excellent restaurant, Perroquet Restaurant, and the English Bar serves some of the best cocktails in Lima. This sophisticated property was remodeled in 2008 and includes over 300 pieces of original art, but there is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi.

Oyster Hotel Review

 Location

Across the street from the Lima Country Club in San Isidro

The Country Club Lima Hotel is located just across from the Lima Country Club, in the safe Embassy District of the exclusive San Isidro neighborhood. This mostly residential and commercial area is south of Lima Centro, the capital’s historic district. There’s nothing within walking distance but the golf club and a few beautiful embassies, along with a small mall and Starbucks right by the hotel.

San Isidro is home to many upscale hotels and is popular for its shopping malls and the golf club with views of the Lima skyline. It is mainly residential (especially the area around the Embassy District, located between the ocean and the Lima Golf Club), and generally safe, but visitors don’t usually spend too much time here -- they mostly stop (or drive) by on their way to Lima’s historic district from Miraflores, the real draw in the capital city.

  • 30-minute drive to J Chavez International Airport
  • Across the street from the Lima Golf Club
  • 8-minute drive to Museo Amano, a museum of pre-Columbian artifacts
  • 10-minute drive to Huaca Pucllana, the only remaining pre-Incan ruin in the area
  • 11-minute drive to Miraflores Central Park and John F. Kennedy Park
  • 12-minute drive to the Parque del Amor, a romantic park overlooking the Pacific Ocean
  • 14-minute drive to the Larcomar shopping mall
  • 15-minute drive to Lima’s Historic District
  • 15-minute drive to the Cathedral of Lima
