This is something you don't come across often -- a minibar where everything, except the alcohol, is free. A nice change from the usual minibar price gouging. Snacks like Cape Cod Potato Chips, pretzels, and candy are all complimentary. The Mercer Hotel minibar features snacks like M&M's and Oreos, as well as gourmet treats from Dean & Deluca's. The mini-fridge is stocked with plenty of soda, juice, and alcohol. Minibars at the Cooper Square Hotel are hooked up with an unconventional collection of, among other items, Hendrick's gin, 10 Cane rum, and Boylan's sodas. But it only gets weirder -- there's also a can of Oxia "personal oxygen," vitamin powder from fitness guru David Kirsch, and a travel kit of Loraine makeup. In addition, there's a cocktail recipe menu to help make best use of Grand Marnier. When you're looking to party in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, itsy-bitsy bottles of booze don't always cut it. Hence, Hotel Gansevoort offers larger bottles of Grey Goose and Belvedere vodka, Knob Creek and Johnnie Walker Black Label whiskey, and of course, Veuve Clicquot Champagne. With two cabinets and a fridge worth of mixers and snacks, the Standard has one of the city's biggest and most tempting minibars. Gild Hall's great minibar comes stocked with snacks from Dean & Deluca, as well as rare treats like Stacy's Pita Chips and Clif Bars. The minibar also includes luxury "pleasure" items (like lube and condoms) from the upscale French intimacy boutique Kiki de Montparnasse. The Algonquin minibar alcohol selection includes three types of Grey Goose, Campari, Patron tequila, and Knob Creek bourbon. Cocktail shakers and martini glasses are a classy touch. The Gramercy Park Hotel has one of the more extensive minibar selections we've come across, including Blanton's single barrel bourbon or Remy Martin XO Excellence cognac. No need to drink out of plastic cups when the room comes equipped with fancy glassware in the English drinking cabinet. Tons of munchies, T-shirts, and shaving products are also available in the English drinking cabinet. It's all very expensive -- the wood smoke candle used in the hotel lobby, for example, is $150.
