Best Beach Hotels in the Oregon Coast

View all Oregon Coast Hotels

The pull of Oregon Coast is its rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and the well-known Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach along the Pacific. The hundreds of miles of Oregon Coast are popular for whale and seal spotting, charming seaside towns, and fishing. For the most stunning views of the water and easy access to the beach, consider staying at a hotel located directly beside the ocean. Check out our picks for the best beach hotels in the Oregon Coast and get inspired!

  1. The Ocean Lodge is a four-pearl hotel that aims to be a home-away-from-home for its guests on the south end of Cannon Beach. 45 rooms and suites include working fireplaces, kitchenettes, and some ocean views. With cookies and organic coffee in the lobby at all hours, a library full of books for all ages, free DVDs to borrow, and a free continental breakfast, the hotel is a popular choice for families (and their pets) who choose it as their home base on the Oregon Coast again and again. Note that there is no on-site restaurant and past guests have complained about noise from little ones.

  2. The 30-room Schooner's Cove Inn has arguably the best location in Cannon Beach. It's situated on a wide stretch of sandy beach just a block from the town's main drag of shopping and dining on South Hemlock Street. Nearly every room has a full kitchen and view of the Pacific Ocean -- many have gas fireplaces. A good upper-mid-range choice for both couples and families, the nautically-themed property has has free (spotty) Wi-Fi, an ocean-facing indoor hot tub, and a grassy beach front lawn with barbecues and picnic tables for guest use. There's no restaurant on-site.

  3. The Hallmark Resort Cannon Beach is a mid-range beachfront hotel with 129 rooms and suites, many of which look right out onto the ocean. Units range from rooms to one- or two-bedroom suites, and there's even a handful of beach houses for rent. The property's biggest selling point is its location right next to the town's iconic Haystack Rock, though it also has good features, including a lovely spa and a couple of saltwater pools. However, it lacks a restaurant -- there's not even a breakfast service.

  4. The 30-unit Beachfront Manor Hotel is a serene, three-pearl hillside property on a sparsely occupied stretch of sand with unobstructed Pacific Ocean views. Rose petals and chocolates on the beds add a touch of romance to rooms and suites, many of which come with fireplaces, balconies with ocean views, microwaves, and mini-fridges. Some units also have hot tubs on the decks. The sister hotel -- where check-ins are facilitated -- offers laundry facilities, but neither property has a restaurant.

  5. The Waves is a value property right in the heart of Cannon Beach, with an excellent location -- but few amenities. The 36 rooms range from simple units to two-bedroom condo-style units, many with decks, fireplaces, and kitchens or kitchenettes. On-site amenities are limited to a few DVDs and beach toys in the lobby, and a whirlpool hot tub with beach views. While there's no restaurant, the hotel's location in the middle of quaint Cannon Beach makes it easy to access area eateries.

  6. High on value and low on frills, the mid-range Lanai at the Cove is a good choice for vacationers looking to get away from it all. The oceanfront location two miles from the center of bustling Seaside requires a car but gives immediate access to a rocky beach popular with surfers. Rooms are individually owned and decorated, and some are pet-friendly, so inquiring about the specific room prior to booking is essential. Each room has a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, those that face the ocean include private balconies. An outdoor heated pool is a nice perk for this price range.

  7. The two-pearl Sandcastle Beachfront Motel offers direct beach access and 40 of the most inexpensive oceanfront rooms in Lincoln City. Rooms are dated and lack air-conditioning, but they’re clean and comfy and have flat-screen TVs. Some also have kitchens, fireplaces, oceanfront balconies, and whirlpool tubs. There's also a large indoor pool and a hot tub with ocean views.

  8. The three-pearl Tolovana Inn is a beachside property with 176 rooms, most of which have full kitchens. Some rooms also have gas fireplaces and views of the beach, and the largest units have two bedrooms and can sleep up to six. The hotel is located right on the beach, though it's a bit removed from the main downtown part of Cannon Beach; guests either need to drive there or take the hotel's shuttle. There's also an indoor pool with a hot tub and sauna, but no on-site restaurant.
