Of the Viva Wyndham's four pools, The Dominicus Beach pool near La Roca Grill is the prettiest.
Of the Viva Wyndham's four pools, The Dominicus Beach pool near La Roca Grill is the prettiest. The beatiful and clean Dominicus Beach pool has billowing white canopy beds sanwiched between it and the rocky shore. The Iberostar's pool is massive -- it winds into various nooks and crannies, through Grecian columns, and around a central garden. There are lakes that are smaller than the gigantic lagoon that wraps around the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana. This giant oasis spans the main stretch of the hotel -- from the beach up to the lobby. The Majestic Excellence Punta Cana has smaller pools and fountains in addition to its enormous main pool. The Ambar, an adults-only section of the massive Gran Bahia Principe multi-resort complex, comes with a much calmer pool than the kid-friendly one next door. Just like the family-friendly pool over at the neighboring Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana, the Ambar's pool is loosely lagoon-shaped with Jacuzzi tubs bubbling on the corners. There's a broad deck surrounding the pool with plenty of lounge chairs, but no cabanas or substantial shade. The nearby snack bar, with its leafy canopies, is the closest alternative. Swimming pools take center stage at the IFA. Guests go nuts for the brand-new and impeccably maintained lake-style pool. There are two other swimming pools on the resort, one that is slightly smaller and a little closer to the beach, and another that is near the theater. There is also a small pool for kids. The main pool attracts more attention than the beach. Young kids perch on giant boulders or climb atop the fountain at the center, while adults enjoy drinks at the swim-up bar. Reggaeton beats alternate between sing-along Stevie Wonder classics (everyone joins in for the chorus). At the center of the Grand Oasis Marien is a large, zero-entry pool, which features bridges, waterfalls, and a separate volleyball area. Dreams La Romana has three swimming pools. The main pool comes with a Jacuzzi as well as a nearby kids pool. The resort's zero-entry infinity pool is the most popular of the three pools. The edge is super-shallow -- perfect for frolicking kids -- but the pool gradually deepens towards the center. The Sanctuary has several pools on its miltitiered property, including a large, lagoon-shaped infinity pool that overlooks the beach. There is a swim-up bar, but most guests prefer to sunbathe on the spacious deck. Dreams La Romana's "preferred pool" is reserved for guests who pay an additional fee per night. Apart from the Sanctuary's main pool, there's a moat around the Fortress building, and yet another pool within its ramparts that has a beautiful view of the ocean from up high. A long, meandering pool at the Excellence Punta Cana snakes around the restaurants, the rooms, and the swim-up bar.
